Janice Dickinson Wiki Biography
Janice Doreen Dickinson was born on 15 February 1955, in Brooklyn, New York City USA, and is a photographer, fashion model, talent agent, as well as an author, widely recognized as a self-proclaimed supermodel who also often calls herself “the world’s first supermodel”; she claims that she created the term in 1979 and received a lot of backlash and controversy for her statements. Nevertheless, notoriety eventually resulted in her being invited to judge the reality television series “America’s Next Top Model”, and then her own series “The Janice Dickinson Modelling Agency”.
So just how rich is Janice Dickinson? According to authoritative sources, Janice Dickinson’s net worth is estimated to be over $500,000, as of mid-2016, the majority earned from her involvement in modelling, but now a good deal lower as a result of filing for bankruptcy apparently brought about by unpaid taxes and cosmetic/plastic surgery debts.
Janice Dickinson Net Worth $500,000
Janice Dickinson spent most of her childhood in Hollywood, Florida. Subject to verbal and physical abuse by her father, Dickinson moved out to New York City in order to work as a model. After winning a “Miss High Fashion Model” competition, Janice expected to get a job fairly easily, however, she was turned down by many agencies before she was discovered by Jacques Silberstein, who worked in the industry as a fashion photographer. With Wilhelmina Cooper as her agent, Dickinson began traveling abroad and even modeled in Paris, which helped expand her career to European industry. In 1978, Dickinson returned to the United States and signed a contract with Ford Models modeling agency, which helped her contributed significantly to her net worth. Within a few years, Janice Dickinson became a famous name in the fashion industry, being featured in such magazines as Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Playboy, and working with Valentino, Calvin Klein and Gianni Versace.
With Janice Dickinson’s modeling career on the rise, she began receiving many more offers to appear in the media. In 2003 she joined Tyra Banks and Nigel Barker on the panel of judges on “America’s Next Top Model”, which lasted for four seasons but was later fired by Banks. Several years later, Dickinson joined the cast of the reality television series “The Surreal Life”, and a year later debuted with her own reality show called “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency”, which aired for four seasons, 41 episodes in total. Dickinson then appeared in a short-lived television series with fellow model Abbey Clancy – “Abbey & Janice: Beauty & the Best”. However, the show aired only six episodes and was never picked up after its first season.
Additionally, Janice Dickinson is a known author of three books, all memoirs with the most recent published in 2006, and which have no doubt supported her net worth.
In her personal life, Janice Dickinson has married three times, to Ron Levy, Simon Fields – with whom she has a son – and Alan/Albert B. Gersten. She has a daughter with former boyfriend Michael Birnbaum. She is now engaged to Robert Gerner, a psychiatrist. Janice was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

1 | [on Versace] I was the original model. when Johnny Versace designed the metal dress, back in...1978! |
2 | [on her sobriety & her boob repair] I have had drug and alcohol issues in the past. I'm nervous about doing this operation, sober...without taking pills to calm my nerves and anxiety. |
3 | I wanted to have softer breasts. So I went from Saline to Silicone. Sylvester Stallone paid for those, so I figured, why not, free tits, I'm in! |
4 | [on her boobs] I did American Idol (2002), and I wore something extremely low-cut. And, I dogged the next day, globally, because they zoomed in on my breasts, and you saw...the ridges and the ripples. I should have worn a fucking wet-suit! |
5 | [her response when Terry J. Dubrow suggests using cadaver skin on her boobs is an option] (Janice playfully kicks doctor) NO cadaver skin! No dead bones of ghosts, no serial killers...ladies been in jail...NO! |
6 | [on her The Surreal Life (2003) co-star, Caprice Bourret] Caprice is not a supermodel. She's some girl who developed a fake accent after moving to England, like Madonna. |
7 | Back in the day I was doing runway, editorial, advertising, spokesmodeling, and public appearances. Those are five different categories. Your "Twiggys" and your "Lauren Huttons" weren't doing that. I was Versace's muse, I was Valentino's muse, I was Alaia's muse, Lancetti's muse, Calvin Klein's, Halston's. I could go on and on. |
8 | Get a grip. The idea of the extreme makeover is disturbing. |

17 | She was the fiancée of Sylvester Stallone from December 1993 to July 1994. Sly thought that he was the father of her daughter Savannah, but when he discovered the truth, that the real father of girl was Michael Birnbaum, he left her. |
18 | In her autobiography, "No Lifeguard on Duty", she claims that she was partly responsible for her father's death because she had discarded his heart medication pills, and he had a heart attack that night and died. The statute of limitation for prosecuting Dickinson for the death of her father was up by the time the book was published. |
19 | Says that the girls who win America's Next Top Model (2003) are not of a high enough caliber to make it in the modeling business. |
20 | Along with Nicole Richie, Beyoncé Knowles, Veronica Webb, Kelly Osbourne, Angie Everhart, Alexandra Richards, Irina Pantaeva, Marisa Miller, Wyclef Jean, Rachel Hunter, and Naomi Campbell, she participated in the "Fashion for Relief" show on 16 September, 2005 in New York, a benefit for AmeriCares to support victims for Hurricane Katrina. 28 | Her father was of English and Scots-Irish (Northern Irish) descent. Her maternal grandparents, Aleksander Pietrzykoski and Julia Malinowski, were Polish. |

30 | Claims to have coined the term "supermodel" in 1979; however, the term was already in use before her time, such as a 1968 article in Glamour magazine describing Twiggy, Cheryl Tiegs, Veruschka von Lehndorff, Jean Shrimpton and fifteen other top models as "supermodels". This list as well as several other top models of the 1930s to early 1970s have been credited as "supermodels"', which dismisses Janice's claims as her being the "first supermodel" (her career began in late 1970s). |

32 | As a young girl, she got involved with sports because she drove her younger sister Debbie to gymnastics practices. Debbie was on the Junior Olympics team and Janice took up swimming, karate and some gymnastics to bide the time while waiting for her. |
