Jennifer Scarlett Elizabeth Louis Dreyfus, an American actress, comedian, and producer was born on January 13, 1961. She shares the record for receiving the most Primetime Emmy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards with Cloris Leachman, making her one of the most decorated actresses in American television history.

At Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Louis-Dreyfus was a sister of the sorority Delta Gamma. Prior to leaving school in her junior year to start working at Saturday Night Live, she studied theatre and participated in the student-run improv and sketch comedy revue the Mee-Ow Show. In 2007, Northwestern University awarded her an honorary doctor of arts degree.
